Kamakura's Most-Loved Retro Train, in Tomica Size

The Enoden is the little seaside railway that runs between Fujisawa and Kamakura, squeezing between houses, along the coast and right down the middle of the street in Koshigoe. Its 300 Type is the line's most nostalgic train, first built in the 1950s and 1960s, with only one set still in passenger service today. Tomica captures it in the Long Type range as a two-car articulated diecast in the classic Enoden cream and green, with opening doors. It is a favourite with train fans, families who have visited Kamakura and anyone who loves Japan's slower, scenic side.

Product Features:

  • Officially licensed Enoden model: made by Takara Tomy under licence from Enoshima Electric Railway.
  • Two-car articulated design: captures the 300 Type's unusual shared-bogie layout, with the two cars joined as one piece.
  • Opening doors: the doors open and close for hands-on play.
  • Roof pantographs: pantograph parts are included to fit on the roof for extra detail.
  • Long Type Tomica: a double-length model in the extended Tomica box, about 15cm long.
  • Diecast body: solid and weighty, made to be played with as well as displayed.
  • A Japan travel keepsake: a lovely reminder of a trip to Kamakura and Enoshima.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Enoden?

The Enoden (Enoshima Electric Railway) is a small, much-loved railway that runs about 10km between Fujisawa and Kamakura, south of Tokyo. It hugs the coastline, passes through narrow residential streets and even shares the road with cars, which makes it one of Japan's most photographed train lines.

Why is the 300 Type special?

The 300 Type is the oldest-style train still running on the Enoden, with a retro look, wide front windows and an articulated two-car design. Only one set remains in service, so it has become something of a symbol of the line.

What is a Tomica Long Type?

Long Type Tomica are longer vehicles such as trains, buses and trucks that do not fit the standard Tomica box. They come in a double-length box and sit alongside the regular numbered range, which is why this model is numbered 150.

Will it work with Tomica or Plarail track?

This is a free-rolling diecast model made for play on tables and floors and for display. It is not designed to run on Plarail track.
