This is Edokko Dinosaur (江戸っ子恐竜), a range from Awasaka that tucks dinosaurs into classic Japanese patterns. The bowl is made in Mino, Gifu Prefecture, Japan's largest ceramics region, and pairs perfectly with the matching Shinogi dinosaur side plate.

What does "shinogi" mean?
Shinogi (鎬) describes fine raised ridges on a ceramic surface. The name comes from the ridge line on a Japanese sword blade. Beyond looking beautiful, the ridges give a better grip and let the glaze settle into the grooves for subtle depth of colour.
Can kids use this bowl?
