Tesla's Best-Selling Sedan, Shrunk to Tomica Size
Tomica has been making pocket-sized diecast cars in Japan since 1970, and its numbered range follows the cars people actually see on the road. In December 2024, the Tesla Model 3 joined the line-up as No.98, modelled on the latest-generation Model 3 with its slim headlights and smooth, minimal nose. Finished in clean white with working suspension, it is a great first EV for young car fans and a neat addition for collectors building a modern Tomica garage.
Product Features:
- Official Tomica No.98: part of Takara Tomy's numbered regular range, the core Tomica collection.
- Modern Model 3 design: captures the updated Model 3 shape with its sleek front, flowing roofline and aero-style wheels.
- Working suspension: press down on the body and it springs back, just like every classic Tomica.
- Diecast metal body: solid, weighty feel that stands up to everyday play.
- Free-rolling wheels: smooth enough for racing across the floor or a Tomica track set.
- Collector-friendly box: comes in the classic Tomica box, ideal for display or gifting.
- Pairs with the Tesla Model Y: collect Tomica's Tesla models side by side.

Frequently Asked Questions
What scale is the Tomica Tesla Model 3?
It is approximately 1/63 scale. Tomica sizes each model to fit the standard Tomica box, so scales vary a little from car to car.
What is the difference between this and the First Edition?
The regular No.98 comes in white and stays in the Tomica range. The First Edition (初回特別仕様) was a limited first production run in a special red colour, sold only when the model launched. We stock both.
What does the number on a Tomica mean?
Regular Tomica are numbered 1 to 140. When a new car joins, it takes over a number from a retired model, so each number has a history of different vehicles. No.98 became the Tesla Model 3 in December 2024.
Is Tomica suitable for young children?
Tomica is made for ages 3 and up. The diecast body is sturdy for play, but the small size means it is not suitable for children under 3.
